Richmond Is Ready: Hear firsthand about green-collar workers in the field!
Richmond, CA
September 27, 2008 01:00PM to 04:30PM
Hosted by Zoey Burrows
On this exciting day of action we will promote green-collar jobs in the city of Richmond, kicked off by mayor Gayle McLaughlin!
Our SolarRichmondBUILD program graduates who are now employed at local solar companies will speak about their experience to date and their personal ups and downs as pioneers in a historically homogeneous movement and industry. This will be an exciting opportunity for program graduates to celebrate their hard work and to push for more to be done to bring them into the emerging green economy.
There will also be several workshops, an environmentally-friendly solar walking tour of low-income homes with solar installations and a big photo shoot as well.
A number of organizations, including Atchison Village, Communities for a Better Environment, Rainforest Action Network, Rubicon Programs Inc, Solar Richmond, and West County Toxics Coalition are joining together to promote green-collar jobs in Richmond.
