Democracia U.S.A. - Latinos Go Green / Latinos Por La Tierra

Miami, FL

September 27, 2008 10:00AM to 12:00PM

Hosted by Miguel Concepcion

Event Description:

The "Latinos Go Green/Latinos Por La Tierra" project will focus on environmental voter education and green jobs now community organizing targeting Hispanics through a day of action on September 27, 2008 in Miami. In Miami, our organization will not host a typical event, but we will lead a door-to-door canvass to reach our communities where they live in Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach Counties by delivering our message at home. Democracia U.S.A. is a national, nonpartisan Hispanic voter empowerment and community organizing organization that seeks to increase the political participation of Latinos across the United States. Besides educating our Hispanic communities about green jobs, green economy, environmental risks and solutions, we will mobilize Latinos to sign "I'm Ready" petition signatures to urge our leaders and elected officials to take action and push for a green economy and green jobs to help the working class end their cycle of poverty. This is not an attendance event, since we are leading a neighborhood canvassing. Contact us for details about a press conference or if you wish to volunteer to help out. Visit us our project bilingual websites: www.LatinosGoGreen.org / www.LatinosPorLaTierra.org. Also visit us at: www.DemocraciaUSA.org.
