It was a fabulous kickoff event for the Year of Green environmental education program to be run at Mission Montessori Academy. We had two State Representatives speak to us about the importance of taking charge and becoming environmental stewards, and congratulating the school for this effort. Students were introduced to a range of environmental topics with hands on experiments, stories, and exhibits. We owe a great deal of thanks to all of our presenters!

The range of environmental topics and events at the Year of Green launch was excellent and very engaging. The City of Scottsdale gave a demonstration on air quality, ADEQ read to the children, and APS presented on recycling and alternative energies such as wind and solar power. One of the most captivating exhibits at the launch was presented by the U.S. Green Schools Foundation on fuel cell technologies. This event was as engaging and informative for the adults in attendance as it was for the children!
