We gathered on a drizzly Saturday morning in the Fellowship Hall of the Concord Unitarian Church. The Church Social Justice and Green Sanctuary Committee each had a table, as did 1Sky and Green Concord. Brooke and Drew Arthur brought supplies from their daycare, and the kids in attendance had a good time decorating posters and rocks.
After mingling and looking at the tables for a while, we settled down to hear speeches from Cathy Corkery, of the Sierra Club, David Lamarre-Vincent, of the New Hampshire Council of Churches, Debby deMoulpied, of the Green Concord business association, and Rob Kerth of 1Sky. The central message of the speeches was the link between environmental and social justice issues, and the sheer number of different problems that a strong green jobs policy addresses.
After the pictures, we gathered together to take our photo petition. Thanks to everyone for coming; we'll see you next time!
