A two-hour public discussion on legislative solutions to the energy and climate crisis was held with State Representative Kevin Van De Wege on September 25th in Port Townsend, WA. Much valuable information was shared and all attendees, including our State Representative, agreed they learned a great deal and formed valuable new networking connections. Items discussed included funding for the Green Jobs training program that was passed in Washington State in 2008. Other items were Cap and Trade legislation that will become part of the Western State Initiative as well as state support for improved transportation choices, energy conservation, renewable energy, and cogeneration.
