We set up a table at our local grocery store and engaged in conversations with passer-bys about green collar jobs. Our town is small, 9,000 people, in a rural farm area and a lot of people were unfamiliar with the concept. It was great to see them get excited about the idea and start brainstorming ways our community could create and support green collar job training and jobs. More people signed the petition than expected. After we tabled we went around town taking pictures holding up a GREEN JOBS NOW sign. We hope to submit them to our town paper with an article about what Green Jobs really are and how they could help our local economy. Thank you for this opportunity to connect with our community!
