Press Coverage

By:Arthur Wheaton

On Saturday October 4th and October 11th the Western New York Apollo Alliance helped lower income home owners weatherize their homes. We had 70 volunteers and several area elected officials help reduce the energy use in older homes in Buffalo. Volunteers included students from Daemen College, University at Buffalo, Nichols High School as well as skilled trades union members from Painters District 4 and the Empire State Carpenters. WNY Apollo Alliance members also pitched in to make a difference for 48 home owners. Senator Antoine Thompson and Erie County Legislator Maria Whyte were also in attendance. The event was organized by Frank Hotchkiss of the United Steel Workers and other members of the WNY Apollo Alliance.
