The event was a huge success. A coalition of organizations, led by Courtney Brigham, helped to put on a very powerful display and program. Not only did we have a huge blow up globe on fire, but we also had our green hardhats, petitions, and one attendee brought a pole to show where the water line would be if we do not take action on climate change. After taking lots of great pictures we had a 30 minutes program that included an array of speakers. There was a representative from the local workers unions, from several non-profits, a state legislature, a Miami councilman, a gentleman who had built a LEED silver home in his neighborhood, and also a pastor from a local faith community who closed the ceremony with a prayer. The event was a huge success! The following organizations collaborated to put this event on: Environment Florida, Sierra Club, Faiths United for Sustainable Energy, South Florida AFL-CIO, Union of Operating Engineers, Power Vote, and EMERGE.
